how are conditions then? Should I anticipate rain or snow or sleet? How hilly? Thanks.

I walked from Sevilla - Salamanca starting on February 10th and we had some rain and overflowing creeks (arroyos). This was two years ago. I heard that last year there was no problem do who knows what this year will bring as far as the weather is concerned.

Thanks. How were you able to cross the creeks? How cold/warm was it then?

Any other suggestions for a 2-3 week walk this time of year? Don't want really wet or cold conditions of I can avoid it!

Hi Lunna, weather conditions at that time of year could be quite temperamental (lots of rain). Some of the albergues may be closed and not open until early April due to hospitaleros taking holdiatys. If you are considering walking then you might want to look at Casa Rurals. Not sure if there is an app for the Via de la Plata Casa Rurals (?) Have you had a look at the www.godesalco.com website to assist you with planning your stages. The route from Sevilla to Guillena has a minor water crossing and if it has been raining then you might want to reconsider that route and take a bus to Guillena or walk the road. There is also a minor water crossing out of El Real de la Jara which might be impassable if it has been raining heavily. Wishing you the best with your planning.

Thank you handzon!

There is another thread from not too long ago where we discussed the crossing of the arroyos etc. Look around, it covers all your questions. And in the Resource section you will find a list of all the albergues along the Plata open at that time. I marked in red if and when albergues closed.
