Isaac Fitzgerald in The Guardian 06/11/2020 recounts his way for walking through the pandemic while exploring NYC. and getting in shape

Another example of how to keep on keeping on wherever you might be during this difficult time.
Whenever we may walk we can identify with Fitzgerald who writes

"So much lies ahead that will continue to test us, to traumatize us, to stretch to the breaking point our capacity for madness and uncertainty and horror. So, I’ll keep putting one foot in front of the other. No reason to stop now."

I can really relate to Isaac Fitzgerald's story. Although I've loved walking all my life, I was not a dedicated daily walker until Pandemic Time. Now I am! I'm happy with 15000 miles/day, but aim for a couple of days a week anyhow of over 20000.

I'm on my second virtual walk with Walking4Fun -- started late May, and completed the Arizona Trail (US, 813 miles) and today I'll reach Sahagun, the halfway mark of the Camino Frances. These challenges have helped my mileage enormously.

And yes to the health benefits -- mental, physical, spiritual.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
