You will meet lots of other pilgrims along your journey and making new friendships to.

Actually things have changed slightly since the above post. I'm still leaving Orlando September 15 late evening (20:20), I'll arrive in Barcelona late on the 16th and then taking the train from. Barcelona to Pamplona September 18 where I will stay the night and start walking from there on the 19th.
That means I leave TOMORROW! Just on more sleep!

Would love to hear how you all got on either on the way or when you return?
I have asked @Peter Fransiscus to look after the thread and explain to any newbies that I am on camino now so can't edit list as much as usual, I will catch up when I can.

Heading to the airport in an hour and will be in Pamplona by 14:00. Meeting up with another woman I met on a FB page that is just for women walking the Camino, so that they can meet up and support each other.

After spending tonight in Pedrouza, my daughter and I will hit Santiago tomorrow. I had no idea how long it would take us, and I felt it was important that I not rush her, but she's found a drive in her that I was surprised by. This was an excellent journey for us both, although much different than many other's...

Yes, I plan to retire in April then heading to Los Arcos sometime in May , exact day not circled yet . Getting myself tuned up for the event which includes figuring out the very lightest EVERYTHING for my backpack .Buen Camino!

Sure there will be some rain, and it increases through November, but in my 3 October experiences, the weather has been excellent for walking, with little use of my rain gear. However, I wouldn't travel without it.
Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Thank you. I was thinking to walk in October to avoid the crush of the September crowds. I like people a lot, I just don't want to feel like I'm walking in a herd.

September 2nd, although we intended to start from SJPP, started in Roncesvalles on that day. Chuck and Li from Vancouver, BC. See our blog, you might be there.

Perfect number of pilgrims this year walking through October,I thought. Not much rain but wore my jacket to keep warm on occasions. Rustling leaves ,chestnuts and mushrooms lovely. I did miss the Spring flowers though and the cuckoo. Rained in Santiago(of course)!
Next year I will return in Spring probably to the Primitivo.

Oh forgot about not being able to start walking until first light which was 8 to 8.30.I dont walk in the dark :-/

I was hoping for a few cuckoo stragglers, but found the birds not as plentiful as I had hoped in the fall. It was incredible weather, though. Sounds like we experienced the same wonders of autumn on the Camino. we are thinking about same time next year, Portuguese Route. maybe Porto to Muxia.

I must say, I walked SJPP - Finisterre 13 Sept. - 22 Oct. and though the first few days were extremely busy, doing my best to avoid the "Brierly stops" made a huge difference. I stayed in small villages most of the times, and some days my man and I walked almost completely alone, hardly seeing anyone else - some days we saw NO other pilgrims on the trail, though there obviously were. It was much more pleasant because it gave us the opportunity to communicate with the locals we met on the Way (and enjoy the apples and figs they gave us
) and have a nice communal meal with the few people in the albergue at the end of the day - I found it's not as easy to connect with the other pilgrims in big, crowded albergues and towns. And there was never a need to "rush" or "race". Even in busy September, it can be done. €2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

Thank you. That reassures me. I'm just waiting to see if my daughter can go with me. If not, I will probably walk in April to celebrate my 60th Birthday. I lost my twin and that makes birthdays a bit hard to celebrate.
