Don't even think of trying the Parador around the 5th and 6th November! They hung up 'COMPLETO' signs in March! Hotels are also running at 95% occupancy for the 5th and 6th November.
It is a unique occasion. And the tourism industry knows it. Not surprisingly, the hotel rates for the first weekend of November have soared to 300 euros per night. Depending on the location it is possible, however to reserve a place in an institution of higher category (four stars) for between 150 and 170 euros , according to the offers currently available on the portal http://www.booking.com . Being near the square where the pontiff will offer the homily can be costly. Although not located at the foot of Obradoiro in the same web site with balcony rooms are advertised for 300 euros in three-star accommodation .

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Sil,

It is not surprising to see money being made out of the Pope, but I hope the Santiago pilgrims will not be charged to see the Pope as in UK, I was there at the time of the article detailing the charges:

In addition you need to fill in an application form and get your parishes approval to travel to see the Pope, my only comment is that I hope it will be easier and cheaper to see the boss when my time is finally up.
