33 Day Odyssey, Camino & Grand Tour in a time of pandemic.

Time of past OR future Camino
2017 Camino Frances,
2019 C. Portuguese (inland).
DAY ONE
I often think about the walks that my wife and I did in 2017 and last year. Those long walks have become something of a beacon these past few months. No doubt the restriction on travel has much to do with this

I had to postpone my April Camino to September, now cancelled altogether. It’s a small loss compared to what’s happening around the globe.

I’ve done some one-day caminos here in my city. It's good to be outdoors and on the move again. It’s important to stay fit and to be ready. Sadly, with further restrictions now in place, even these walks are not possible, for now.

This is my virtual Camino.

I took these photos in mid-May, at dusk, in a small village. Most of the houses were of mud bricks, many of them empty. It was a peaceful time of day, a time of rest for weary pilgrims. It was a warm evening. It seems odd to look at these photos today, it all seems so far away.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

I’m not complaining, don’t get me wrong. It is a worthwhile sacrifice.

So, it looks like I’ll have to do an imaginary cosmic camino.

I took these photos in mid-May, at dusk, in a small village. Most of the houses were built with yellow-brown mud bricks. (I was born in a house like this) Many houses were empty. There were few people about. It was a peaceful time of day, a time of rest for weary pilgrims. It was one of those beautiful evenings. I feel sad looking at these photos today, it all seems so far away.

Hi Lexicos, that is what I am doing here in Brianza, since we where able to move a bit farther than our houses I have clocked nearly 900 Km.
Enjoy what we can.

DAY TWENTY THREE, AFTERNOON
Thank you for 'walking' this virtual Camino with me. I have no idea where it will take us to next. What I do know is that it will finish in Santiago in ten days time. It has taken on a new meaning because our government just announced a curfew.

I have enjoyed walking and putting this Camino together.

I hope you enjoy walking it.

Buen Camino

It was a long walk but the journey has been much longer.
