Some but not all, and other routes too.
As the title says I will be leaving home 4 weeks today arriving in Saville 4 weeks tomorrow. Now i'm starting to panic, new backpack arrives Monday so I'd better get some intensive training in.
Hope to see all you early birds on the trail.
Buen Camino.

Hi Waka
Lucky you. I’m still planning. Expect to leave Sevilla early April (6?). So currently working on a skeleton list of where I could be over the Semana Santa period to put in a few bookings.
I prefer not to book but it’s just for that section and I may need to phone and cancel if I’m not running to plan.

Are you staying in the city for a look before you start ? And what was you decision for first night accommodation? I’ve been there previously as a tourist and stayed at Hotel Simon but I don’t want to do the same thing this time. There are plenty of other options suggested. I’m looking into a few currently.

Are you a ‘switched off ‘ pilgrim once on your way? Would love to get some commentary as you go if possible.

Buen Camino

Buen Camino, Waka and OzAnnie! VdlP must be awesome! :D

Hi OzAnnie

I have booked the Hotel Simon for the Sunday night in Saville, I thought a peaceful night would be good before I start walking on the Monday, I will get most of Sunday to have a look around Saville but for me the sooner I get on my way the better.
I will have an iPhone with me and have intended to post every couple of days or so just to let the pilgrims following know what things are like. Im already tracking the weather for rainfall outside Santiponce, it would be nice to have my first arroyo crossing dry. Herat for me shouldn't be a problem unless we get some serious global warming in February.

Buen Camino.

Hi Anamya
I haven’t heard anything but ‘great or best ‘ etc from anyone with whom I’ve discussed this route.
So I’m excited and planning at the moment. I will drop in to the forum with progress too.

Annie

I'm flying out from Oz on Feb 1 too and hope to start the Levante on Feb 6. Should hit Zamora a month later to do the Astorga leg of the VDLP. Packed my pack for the first time today and it's hitting 12 kg but that's doable. Given the winter layers it's tolerable.
Also getting excited!

Waka - how will you be posting your experiences? I will be a couple of weeks behind you so would be nice to know what is going on. I see you live in Dorset - I am South Somerset, a small world!!

I think I'll just do a "Live from the Camino Post" I'm not into blogs I guess mainly because I don't understand the know how.
I'll mainly be posting about conditions and Albergues to the pilgrims that are following me.
Whereabouts in Somerset are ?

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
