Hello,
After 3 ( postponed) weeks in the Algarve next spring, I will be in Porto with the option to add on another week. Have previously done both the Portuguese Coastal and Central, but have not before gone solo. Here’s the choices
- walk from Vigo taking the Variante Espiritual
- bus to Santiago and then Muxia and Finnesterre
Pros or cons?

thanks

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.

Pros or cons?
I assume your previous Portuguese caminos didn't include the VE? If not, then this would be my choice. I feel that the VE offers a more interesting and varied walk than Santiago-Finisterre (I cannot speak for Muxia). Although finishing by the ocean at Finisterre is a great incentive if you have never done it before.

This is an article detailing my Variante Espiritual highlights in case that is of help.

I'm not sure how important a Compostela is for you, or walking to Santiago.
The Camino Portugues with the VE is very nice and would provide both of those.
Walking to Muxia and Finisterre is also very nice, but wouldn't get you a Compostela (although you can get certificates in Muxia and FInisterre). If you want the Compostela, you can take a bus to Muxia or FInisterre and walk between the two and back to Santiago.
Another option would be to go from Porto to Ferrol and walk the Camino Ingles.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

I must be the only pilgrim who wasn't impressed by the VE.
David's suggestion for the Ingles is a good one, as is the point made by Jungleboy about finishing at the end of the earth.
