Hi all,

I will start my Cammino on the 17th September, flying to Barcelona .... Does anyone know which is the best way to get to SJPP ?

Another question, I am really surprised to read that there is a race for bed !! It puts a smile on your face while reading it .... but it is no kind of fun if you are there looking for a bed .... Is it easy to get a bed during the last two weeks in September and October ??

thank you all

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
Absolutely don't worry about this racing for beds.

You will have no problems at all.

Problems are only in Galicia on July/August.

About how to go from Barcelona to St Jean, try to go to Pamplona (then a taxi) or to Biarritx or San Sebastián (then by train, Hendaya/Bayona/St. Jean). Travelling from Barcelona by plane, the train spends a lot of hours.

Buen Camino,

I walked the camino last year in October and had no difficulty getting a bed anywhere. The albergues were quite full every night but the fact that there were a lot of pilgrims around added to the fun. I never heard of anybody not getting a bed, no matter how late they arrived. :)

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
The train to Pamplona leaves from Barcelona Saints station. To get there exit the airport and use the elevated walkway which takes you to the station. The fare into town is about €2.50.
The journey from Barcelona to Pamplona takes about seven hours. While you're on the train you could look out for fellow pilgrims and ask if they would like to share a taxi onward from the station. A couple of years ago the taxi fare to SJPP from Pamplona was €90, so it's worth trying to find other pilgrims to split the cost.

Transport luggage-passengers.

Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
Thanks Javier, John and Stephen !!!

Nine days to go ... and i will start my Cammino ..... I will be doing it on my own but i am sure i will meet other pilgrims!!! Now the only thing left is my backpack!!! I have to make sure that i take the minimum possible with me!!! Definately i will be taking my sleeping bag and mat cause i am used to warm weather in Malta or else i will freeze. Some clothes, socks, water bottle, torch, .... what else ????
