Marie, you were not alone, do you remember meeting me In Astorga? I was injured, I had to take three days off because I had sprained my Instep, I was sitting outside in a café having breakfast feeling sorry for myself and you were there, you were getting ready for the Days walk. We sat there and started to talk, we had a great conversation and spent a good hour together. You were so positive and upbeat and your feet were hurting so much, we shared so many things in such a brief period of time. I was feeling rather sorry for myself and a little envious of the fact that you were continuing the journey whiIe i was stuck nursing a sprained and wrapped foot. You embody the Camino spirit Marie, and you passed on words of wisdom that I’ll never forget. You told me to put my ego in my backpack and move it along, that my foot couldn’t take the added weight of the backpack for the next few days once I started walking. You told me to be kind to myself and enjoy the journey. You walked away Continuing your journey,but what you didn’t know is that you made a difference to the rest of my Camino. I did finish, I did walk into Santiago, And I did move that backpack along. Your smile is beautiful!

OOOH YES Diane !! i really perfectly remember you and the exact scene and my small idea of a café con leche transformed in "morning break" (on the Camino i probably took 3 breakfast every morning hahaha) when i saw your sadness about your injury .
I was at the first part of my Way so bubbling of energy but my feet were strengthening too slowly on my idea;
It was a lovely conversation about your great Canadian land too if my memory s exact ? and children, gran children? etc... that the part of the Camino (often happened) i liked so much : crossing the roads of souls full of kindness and open to share !
I m so proud of your willingness and happy happy you walk into Santiago : that s great my dear !
me too but i "jumped" legs of the Way (3weeks for the entire road , i'm not Misruro hahaha) and you know next time i made to San Iago the promess to accomplish one by one every cut part of Camino , you'll join me who knows?
if you want my adress dont hesitate and keep being positive and volunteer !!
Hauts les cœurs camarade la Vie est une Belle Route Quotidienne
my smile and me kiss you
