(Alex, where in the world did you find this? And are there more?)
It is a Norw. artist for many years now. Extremely talented and funny. But I modified it a little to suit this environment ;). In the original, the guy was sent to Hell because he had mixed a 21 year old single malt whisky ("Glenfiddleich") 50/50 with lemon flavored soda water...:)

His works have been translated to English, but where to buy...?

OOH! Johnnie Walker would react to that last comment! Sacrilege!

OTOH, this thread gives me an idea. Here in the US, trusted inmates from many state prisons are assigned to road verge / shoulder cleanup duty along many major state and national highways. They walk the grassed and planted areas picking up trash, just as we do along the Camino routes.

They are supervised by a guard. But, this activity gets them out of the prison, out in the fresh air and the work is not that hard. They wear safety clothing and gloves for protection. This is not "chain gang" work. The trustee inmates are unshackled and look like normal workers. They are permitted to do this precisely because they are considered low risk.

I wonder if this might work in Spain? Just thinking out loud... So much of Spain's economy is based on tourism, and much of that pie is based on the various Camino routes and related tourism in the major cities. It follows logically that this sort of activity might be plausible.

Second thought, what about as an "outreach community effort" by the Amino Chaplaincy? Okay, I will shut up now...

But, I was being serious.

well, it might give the prisoners fresh air, but do little about the rude behavior of some walkers. Perhaps in order to walk the camino, one must first spend a week cleaning it, and washing off graffiti. Just as teenagers learn a new respect for 'no feet on the furniture' once it's furniture they've had to save to buy for their own home, cleaning up the mess might make new walkers less excited to add it it. The first week or two of sellos would have to be from a cleaning crew supervisor.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

He what??? There are those who would have said that burning him/sending him to Hell was too good and that some other painful punishment was in order - like being made to drink the lemon flavoured soda water whilst others stand in front of him and drink & enjoy the 21 year old single malt and being told how good/great it is!!

Maybe sentence them to carry pilgrims backpacks? :)
