My wife and I will start our first camino in September, God willing. I guess each day we will have to wash socks and masks.

How are you finding the Camino. Are the Albergues open? With less capacity?
I am not walking on the Camino, I'm here visiting my family who live here in Villafranca del Bierzo. Today we went to Las Herrerías from Villafranca and we saw approximately 60 pilgrims walking within a space of 30 minutes drive. Most appear to be Spanish, but we heard some English, German, Belgian and Italian being spoken.
Many albergues are closed, and the ones that are open need to be booked before arrival. Sorry, I can't tell you anything more about capacities etc.

One of my favorite larger villages on the Frances. I have great memories of my first pulpo meal under an umbrella on the main street, and the following year had a wonderful full breakfast at a nice bar/restaurant across the street, located indoors in a basement. The owner left a positive lasting impression...I know I have digressed.🙄

I would suggest washing underwear daily too! 😀

I wash all the clothes that I wore each day.

Ha-Ha! NO! Just the masks and socks.

Of course we will be washing everything. I think I was just considering that there is (for the foreseeable future) a new item of daily clothing.
Of course one could argue to use socks for masks as well ......

Washing everything? I have met backpack weight-conscious pilgrims walking commando - no underwear - hiking sandals - no socks - one set of clothes replacing at outdoor markets met along the way - and liquid soap in the smallest bottle I ever saw for washing and shampoo. Not recommended.
