When I was walking to Rabanal, I decided that I wanted to walk a bit further than the 20ish km and so opted to stay in Foncebadon. I stayed in the private albergue up there and really enjoyed it. The people were lovely and although it was 7€ to stay, I think it was worth it for the atmosphere... and the food was pretty good as well (all organically grown, which for the Camino was rather refreshing, if only for a day!)
I did mean to stay at the CSJ place as I've heard from a few people that it's really lovely, and wouldn't have minded a little chat with the guys running it, but I guess my plans just changed.
