Tried the Valença - Santiago leg last week. Very poor weather with torrential rain at times. Had to quit in Pontevedra due to very sick wife. The early stages have too much asphalt to be pleasant. Will go back to P'vedra to complete later. Ingles much nicer Camino.

So sorry that you had to stop your Camino and wish your wife a speedy recovery. I walked from Porto to SdC late April to early May and the problem I had was the exceptionally high temperatures, but the cobblestones on the early stages took their toll on my, and other pilgrims' feet and legs. The hardest stretch was between Ponte de Lima to Rubiaes, but it was also the most beautiful, lots of walking through hillside forests rewarded with a stunning vista at the top - of course if it had been raining it would have been a completely different experience. I wish you both good health and good weather for your next Camino.

Try the coastal- great walk.

Hope your wife is better, soon
