Accommodation in Morgade

Time of past OR future Camino
Planned Camino for early November 2022
Would be very grateful if anyone could recommend accommodation in Mograde in November. Hoping to arrive there on November 4th. I’m not sure what’s open or not at this time of year as this is our first Camino. Thanks so much

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
The only place listed on Gronze is Albergue-Pensión Casa Morgade. According to Gronze it is open through the end of November.

If you aren't familiar with Gronze it is only in Spanish, but if you use the Chrome browser it will automatically translate to English or the language of your choice.

I stayed at Casa Morgade. I had arrived just before lunch time on a miserable, wet, cold day in early November and they had a lounge/common room with a fireplace (and drying racks for clothing). One look at that and I decided to stay. The food was good, the dorm had no bunks.

Almost identical experience! Except it started snowing 1 km before I arrived. I was grateful for a roaring fireplace I could sit in front of whilst enjoying a glass of wine, waiting for my clothes to dry.

In Galicia all the Albergues of the "Xunta" are open always.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi
I don't know if is open in November, but Casa Morgade is absolutely brilliant. I stayed with them back in May.
Buen Camino

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Staying at Casa Mongrade at the moment. Easy place to recommend.

In looking at the timestamp of my photos of Casa Morgade, it looks as if my date of stay was Nov 7, 2019. They should be open Nov. 4th, but it would be wise to contact them first.

Also wanted to add, my first year (2016) I stopped for a coffee and sandwich midday and it was absolutely teeming with pilgrims. It felt like impersonal, claustrophobic truck stop. I'm so glad I ended up staying here in late fall a few years later. Only about 4 other pilgrims were there that evening, and it felt quiet and cozy. The owner happily cooked us a delightful meal and I'll never forget his words "this isn't work to us, you pilgrims do the real work".

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Thank you
Just asked staff and they indicate somewhere around Nov 5th. Maybe longer, depending on the weather. They say they will be gone by the end of Nov. at the latest. Best to check when you are going to be in the area

I highly recommend Casa Morgade. My wife and I enjoyed our one night. Great accommodations. Good food and very hospitable family.
