Accommodation in September

I'm planning to spend the second half of September walking the Camino Portugues. Do I need to book accommodation in advance or will it be OK just to turn up and look for a hotel/hostal?

Hello Ann.

You will not have any problem to sleep when you arrive to towns. Albergues in Spain, any albergues in Portugal too, and usually you will have no problems to find a room in any hostal, it's not difficult in late september.

Hello Anne,

I just came back from walking part of the Camino Portugues this month. One dofference I saw is that, while there are many places to choose from when looking for accomodations, it's not as many as on the Camino Frances. My companions and I didn't stay in the albergues, though.

But there seem to be less traffic on the Camino Portugues than on the Frances, so you might not encounter that much competition for accomodations along the way.

I hope you are able to walk the Camino Portugues in September. It's a quieter route, and walking through vineyards is definitely a nice bonus :)

I would like to walk the river route in Tui next month. I can see on google maps exactly where it starts, but it seems a bit overgrown. Has anybody used this route this year or last year...
Hello, my friend of 50+ years and I are on our first Camino walk. We are looking for: 1) safe, comfortable hostels in Lisbon; 2) stages from Lisbon to Porto (via Tomar) in about 16 days...
Hi I have searched everywhere to see if there is a luggage service from Lisbon to Porto. I know there is from Porto to Santiago, but Lisbon ???. Thanks for any info.
