Accommodation in Villavante June 2022

I am having difficulty in finding accommodation between Vilar de Mazarife and Orbigo for 9 June this year. Villavante looks like a convenient stop, but Molino Galochas has no accommodation and Albergue Santa Lucía is closed (and doesn't get very good reviews.) Does anyone have experience of this Albergue? Or nearby accommodation? I'm starting from La Virgen del Camino but it will be my first day and I'm not sure if I really want to walk all the way to Hospital de Órbigo. (I'm 69 and an experienced walker.)

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

A possible solution is to take the “official” route via San Martin which shortens the hike to Hospital. Not my preferred route but needs must and there is reasonable accommodation in Villadangos and St Martin if those first-day legs run out of steam

There is a newly remodeled albergue on the official route at Villagangos del Parma. My husband stayed there last fall. Very nice. Everything new. It is a donativo staffed by hospitaleros voluntarios from the federation. They prepared a meal for him.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Thanks for all your replies. Still undecided but I may just soldier on to Hospital de Orbigo.

I've stayed at the Albergue Santa Lucia twice (2016 and 2019) and had a pretty good experience both times. The village is pretty moribund, but the hospitalera was kind, the meal was adequate, and the bunkroom was clean. We began our walk from downtown Léon, and if I'd had a bit more energy I would have gone past Villavante to Hospital. If I was starting at Virgen I would probably try to go as far as Hospital, but no regrets about Albergue S. Lucia, either.

Thanks - that's very helpful.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
