Accommodation in Zubiri for Camino Frances Walkers

Hello all,
we are hoping to start the Camino Frances in August and complete it over a few years. This year we plan just a week walking and hopefully 2 weeks in 2024. I want to book somewhere in Zubrini. Does anyone have a suggestion for a hostel/hotel for a double room.

Gronze.com has a list of albergues and other accommodation in Zubiri, which I suspect is where you are intending to stay. There are a couple of the newer albergues with double rooms, but the municipal and Albergue Zaldiko don't from memory.

As you are checking for accommodations in Zubiri, include Larrasoaña in your search too. In case Zubiri is limited for beds/rooms, Larrasoaña is just a few kilometers further down the road to Pamplona. I stayed at the Albergue San Nicolas, but I don’t know if they have private rooms or mot.

I stayed at Txantxorena, it was very good although expensive for me as I was walking by myself. Excellent host and room with a good selection at breakfast - one of the few I had before starting the day's walk.

Good idea. My first two caminos were on the Frances and both times I stayed in Larrasoana. Also allows for a shorter walk into Pamplona the next day.

As I just wrote in another post, I can't recommend Albergue Rio Arga in Zubiri highly enough. It's right at the entrance to town near the bridge, and the view (and sound) of the river right outside the window of my room was wonderful.

I stayed here too. Nice accommodations and they will wash your clothes for a fee.

My wife and I have hiked Camino Frances four times and each camino we've stayed in Zubiri. Our first camino in 2015, we mostly stayed in albergues. First camino we stayed in Albergue Zaldiko. Very nice hospitalera. Accomodation was a bit crowded and not much privacy. Second camino in 2017, we hiked with my brother and his wife. We stayed in Albergue Rio Arga in two double rooms with bathrooms. Excellent location with an outside porch that over looks the river! Our last two caminos 2019 and 2021 we stayed at Txantxorena. Amazing historic home and a nice private garden out back to enjoy wine in the afternoon. A bit pricey. Very nice hospitalera and excellent breakfast the next morning. We've always enjoyed staying in Zubiri - great place to relax after two brutal days of hiking. Be sure to check out the local almentacion, but go early since it closes some days at 14:00. Bob

I stayed at

El Palo de Avellano Zubiri and it was delightful. Dinner there was great and several of the albergues send pilgrims there for chow.

El Palo Avellano is nice and their food is excellent.
They have an albergue as well as private rooms.
Suseia is nice, but a bit out of the village.
Txantxorena is lovely.

I stayed at Zubiri Suseia, lovely lovely dinner and taking care. Sarah is a star. Extra short bit out of the way but worthwhile. Absolutely recommend it.
