Accommodation on Portugeuse Camino

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Depending on your schedule the municpal albergue in Porrino is always open and a very nice place to spend the night.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
We are looking for accommodation in Porrino and Arcade that we can book before we go
Except for the albergue there are lots of hostals and hotels in Porriño. The only thing we found out last year that the prices of the hotels were rather high compared to places like for example Pontevedra or Padrón. In Porriño we stayed in hotel Parque in the center. The room was okay. the breakfast terrible and we paid € 45 for a double room.

We did not stay overnight in Arcade but in the albergue of Redondela.
In Arcade are hotel Avenida, Hotel Isape and hotel Duarte. We walked on to Pontevedra were is an albergue but we preferred the privacy of hostal Maruja at the big plaza in front of the big church.
In Caldas de Reis we stayed in hotel/albergue Cruceiro. A nice place. Big value for the money !
And one of the best on our trip all the way from Lisbon was in Padrón hostal Jardin.
If you are in Padrón do not forget to order pimientos de Padrón. Nice food. And visit Pepe's bar. It is an experience on its own to meet Pepe ! Great laugh !
From Padrón to Santiago is 25 kms so we splitted it up and stayed in casa Cruceiro in Teo a Casalonga, a beautiful rural place with great diner and breakfast. Great value for the money too.
Advantage was that the next morning we had to walk only about 8 or 9 kms , were in time at the pilgrimsoffice to get our credentials without cueing up for a while , booked a room in a hotel and booked the bus back to Porto at the tourist office and attended the 12h00 pilgrimsmass and saw the Botafumeiro swinging.

We loved the caminho Portuges which took us 32 days from Lisbon.
Next month we start on the camino Ingles from Ferrol and are thinking to walk the Portugese again in 2015 ,now from Porto along the coastline all away to Vigo and from there the way you will walk

Bom caminho
