Camino Francis (2017)
Via Francigena Italy portion (April 2018)
Good evening pilgrims!
I am looking to make reservations in SJPdP for 2 evenings April 5th and 6th for my husband and I. Any suggestions?
Thank you,
jujubery

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
As far as hotels in SJPdP go, I stayed at the Central Hotel one night. It was nice. Right next to the small river that runs through town.
The one private albergue I made reservations at beforehand was the Gite Azkorria. That was nice as well, and very close to the pilgrim's office. It included breakfast in the morning.

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
A friend and I stayed at Maison Donamaria before starting out on our Camino at the end April 2016. We loved it. The owner, Jean François, is a charming, witty and thoughtful host. The house is cozy and just a few minutes from the center of town and located along the Camino route. It was very easy to find. Rooms are comfortable and very clean, breakfast is delicious. We ate at 7 am and left at 7:30. I look forward to staying here again, either to start another Camino or to tour and hike the area. Jean François is extremely knowledgeable about the area, the Camino and other hiking routes and he will happily and enthusiastically share his knowledge with you.

I stayed at Gite Ultreia (shared/hostel/dormitory accomodation) in 2015 and have booked again for this year (new owner now) http://www.ultreia64.fr/en/home/ very well situated in the same road as the Pilgrim's Office - Rue de la Citadelle
WildPlace,
thank you for your response. I was wondering what a Gite was. thank you for the explanation.

owms2323,

I think Gîte just means holiday accommodation :) Not that my French is brilliant - I haven't learnt any since 1973 (unlike Spanish which I love learning!)

Nelia,
Thank you for your response. I looked it up on booking.com and it looks like a lovely place. How far out is this place from center of SJPdP?

It is about 1 km from the town. It is right on the route. The walk is a very short walk. I highly recommend this place. It was great on Monday that I just had to walk out the front gate and start this journey. The day before I got to say hi to the pilgrims that started That morning.
Have a wonderful journey.
Nelia
