Accomodation after Lugo?

Hi there!

I'm doing some research on the last 100km on the Primitivo. If you start in Lugo, what are options on accomodation (all sorts, albergues, privates, hotel, luxury...) available for a first stop after Lugo, around the 20km mark?

On Gronze and Eroski, I see accomodation in San Roman da Retorta and Ferreira. Anything else in between?

Hola Anamya, I walked there 5 weeks ago but I don't remember anything else except for 2 albergues in San Roman da Retorta. I stayed at Albergue O Cándido.

We stayed at Cruz Ferreira in May, on the east side of Ferreira. I believe it was about 7k from San Roman de Retorta. As best I recall, we were the only pilgrims at the albergue that night. Although I'm sure the hospitalero was disappointed with the lack of pilgrims, he took very good care of us.

We stayed at Case da Ponte in Ferreira in Sept 2017. I only wish that I had been more awake in the morning to have taken a picture of the innkeeper blowing us kisses as we got an early start the next morning! It was 29km from Lugo, and the people that we met that day tried to get rooms at the same Casa Rural, but they were filled.

Was it ok? It will be a relative's first day of walk, i did not want to ush much further than 20km to start.

Although they have received some negative comments on Gronze https://www.gronze.com/galicia/lugo/san-roman-da-retorta/albergue-candido, I was happy to stay there. It was a bit tiring day with lots of asphalt and with some rain when I arrived so I was extremely happy I could get a bed. (I know the other albergue is very small and I had no chance to get a place there at 5 pm.) There were a lot of Spanish youngsters so the 2 hospitaleros were very busy but kind and helpful. To my surprise, I was allone in a 3-bed room with a bathroom and paid only 10 Euros. Hurra!

Me too. One of them the owner took me for free back to Lugo in his car because I had to interrupt my Camino for family reasons

I have an alternative route for you . I returned in May from my Camino Primativo / Verde / Norte .
I found an alternate route from Lugo to Santiago that will bypass all but the last days walk to Santiago.

I did it in 5 days /4 nights, the longest days were 24km (twice).
If you like quiet and peaceful walking in the Spanish countryside I recommend it.
