You can or the Pilgrims Office will help you to find one on arrival. Either way works fine. Buen Camino, SY

@Olivia2012 it depends on what time you will arrive in SJPDP. I've found that if I get there before lunch I can rely on the Pilgrims Office on arrival to find a place, later in the day there is not much left so I prefer to book ahead.

If you wait until you arrive, you may end up spending more than you want. The Pilgrim Office is very helpful in finding a room, but if it is the last room in SJPdP, it will be costly!;)
