Advice on storing a bicycle

Zordmot

3rd CF in May 2022
Time of past OR future Camino
April-May 2022
I’m looking for ideas and suggestions. My plan is to arrive in Paris, take trains to SJPDP, and walk the CF. So far, so good. At the conclusion of my Camino, my plan is to spend several months cycling in Europe. I’m a seasoned bike tourer, so again, it’s all good. My challenge is storing my bike (in a box) somewhere in Europe while I’m on the Camino. Any ideas?

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Hello, I have done this on 2 occasions so far travelling with my partner on bikes then leaving them to walk a camino. Once into Paris and once into Prague.
In Paris, we booked the Nomad Paris Roissy hotel when we landed from Australia with our bikes (they had a shuttle that would fit the bikes, but think it may be suspended during COVID) and they stored our empty boxes for us for 6 weeks as we were returning to pack them up on our way home. Their luggage storage room was large and it would have made no difference if the bike was in the box. There is also a bike shop in Paris that were extremely helpful and you might give them a call. We had them repack our bike for our return and they stored them for us while we went off and did something else (don't remember how long that was for though).

In Prague, the SKY Hotel near the airport were also happy to store the bike (in the box this time) while I walked Spain for 6 weeks.
Needless to say we stayed at the hotel each time we left or picked up the bikes.
I am sure there would be other hotels that would be happy to store your bike if you are staying at their hotel in and out.
Hope you find this useful.

I've left my bike and gear unboxed for up to two months in hostels on the Camino, usually free of charge, once for a mere 20 euro.

Hospitaleros are wonderful people who go out of their way to help in any way they can. The Camino would be impossible without them. All you have to do is ask ... The Camino provides, but they are the Camino for me!

Do you own a vehicle? I also live in a more urban area and frequently leave my bike in my car. It's well-lit, and it's parked right outside my front door, right in front of my windows. Yes, it could be stolen, but in this neighbourhood, I don't think it would go unnoticed.

Thanks Sue for these helpful suggestions!!
