El suceso ocurrió en torno a las tres de la madrugada, cuando el afectado comenzó a encontrarse mal. Los servicios médicos acudieron a atender al paciente, pero no pudieron hacer nada por salvarle la vida.

La esposa del fallecido declaró ayer por la mañana ante las autoridades, que ya estudian la repatriación del cadáver. El cuerpo del peregrino alemán fue trasladado al anatómico forense de León, donde se le realizará la autopsia

Think about this for a little bit, and realize it really is not so sad.
These people died right in the middle of really living. I can´t think of a better place or time to go, than in the midst of a self-motivated journey to a spiritual place, surrounded by supportive fellow-travelers.

Dying is just another part of living. The camino is lined with pilgrim cemeteries. I´d much rather make my exit from somewhere along the trail than from an antiseptic hospital wired-up to machines.
(I can only hope my exit would not overly traumatize the pilgrims around me!)
