If you decide to walk on past San Juan de Ortega there is a warm welcome at El paraja Albergue in Ages. The rooms are quite small but the dinner and breakfast were lovely and a great couple running it, full of information and enthusiasm for the historical importance of Atapuerca and a recommendation to visit the museum of human evolution in Burgos- we did go there and it was well worth going to, very Interesting and well laid out. They only started running the Albergue this year and I wish them well as they gave us a very nice stay, plenty of hot water, nice clean showers and a lovely, traditional village to enjoy for the evening.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

That's great. Can you tag your post with Atapuerca too. I really enjoyed visiting the site btw.

We stayed in Ages. I loved wandering around that town and taking photographs.
We stayed one town beyond Ages in Atapuerca at a wonderful private albergue. We ate dinner at a beautiful restaurant directly across the street. They offered a menu del dia. Very high quality food, service and atmosphere. I felt like on vacation eating there...except for the clothes I wore! Afterward we strolled up to the defunct church on top of the hill and admired the views while enjoying more wine! ;) Ahhh, Camino memories.

Ages is one of my favorite towns on the CF. When I stayed there at the albergue in 2015, the town was having a street party of sorts, a kind of joint celebration for a couple of resident's birthdays I think. They invited the pilgrims to it. It was so hospitable. They broke out the grills, and as they say in Texas, started "making smoke". Wine. Chorizo. Bread. Good stuff.
