AI-driven exoskeleton lightens your load and elevates performance

Train for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island March 16-19

lovely 😂- but cannot lighten the load .. also add in the weight of the gadget plus the battery.
Does it have a super-mode emergency button for running away from bears?
It reduces leg fatigue and cardio vascular effort by shifting much of your own muscle's effort over to the exo-skeleton. In Normal Mode, you go your same walking speed but you are hardly exerting yourself. It is an absolute Muscle Force multiplier.

Push the button for 'Super-Dooper Mode', and you will not only outrun bears, but you will be too fast for human deviants to react quick enough to expose themselves.

You will be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound and do a Shock and Awe to Camino Bike riders as you ring a bell in order to make them move over for being too slow. The big bonus: You can sleep-in till 12 Noon, and still win the bed race from one albergue to the next.

The second paragraph is fiction. But it will be alluded to for the purposes of Rental Marketing.

I might just set up a Pilgrim rental program in St Jean Pied de Port, with the drop-off location being at Roncesvalles.

Dave, as ever, your contributions provide food for thought. I have merely skimmed, but I know your approach, which is ultra thorough and factually based, and imagine your glee at putting the hare into the field!
Speaking of which...

Do you still get a compostela?
Yes.
To qualify you must walk 1700 km, making continuous progress to Santiago de Compostela on a recognized route. Two stamps per day is still required. The Pilgrim must also be in direct, concious control of the walking at all times, meaning he or she cannot simply set the exoskeleton on 'automatic' and let it walk for you while you taxi to the next lodging for the night.

Brilliant! But how about a step further, pun intended! A smart pack that by satellite can have the gravity be lifted so a heavy pack will now be featherweight?! What say you?

My user’s manual states in microscopic fine print you may still qualify for a Compostela if you walk the last 100 km provided you wear it at ALL times in ALL places. If you take it off, it becomes a do over and must return to a 100 km place, any one will do as long as you walk these last 100 in Galicia. Must have 2 stamps per day one of which must be on the credencial and the other on the device.

Hmmm. . wear all the time..... 💡!!! I got it!! Every Exoskeleton device rented will come with a pair of Bionic-grino Pants. These pants will have a sewn-in special pouch to accomodate 'nature break' liner bags to deal with not being able to unfasten the exodevice sufficiently to clear the fabric.

Due to the 'hump' which occurs on the outside of the pants by the pouch, a specially designed Rain Cover will be included so the hump stays dry. You will need the assistance of someone to position it into place. If wearing a poncho, then you do not need to wear the Hump Rain Cover.

I have checked into this. I would have ordered one but discovered that the max waist size is 40 inches. I am still somewhat above that.

I did argue that overweight folks like me could be a better target market, especially with leg issues. But they stuck to their guns.

Yeah, the manufacturer does not want to deal with accessories. However, If desired by the rental customer, ours will include waist belt extenders as an equipment accessory. After a long period of inactivity and recovery, I have had ample oppotrunity to test the effectiveness of these belt extenders and can personally assure that they can help provide a comfortable fit.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Can i take that as carry-on?
Good question. Perhaps they should undergo a security inspection to certify on-board safety?

If properly tucked into a backpack, they may be compact enough to fit into the bag-sizing frame thingy which the airline check-in people use to make sure carry-on luggage is within the required dimensions.

I put forward that the exoskeleton be worn through TSSA, remove to go through scanning and put back on to board. The only difference between any other assist and the exoskeleton is you must wear it.

In the issue of trekking poles, on my way home last time, I was asked if I required a wheelchair to board, initially, as I was dependant on the poles for stability, I said no to that but was then assured that I could pack the poles in my pack, which was still a carry-on. I mention this as it is fundamental to one’s mobility.

Everybody's laughing, but at my age a mechanical boost may one day make the difference between a nap in the La-Z-Boy or a hike in the woods. Let me remind you of Charles Barkley's profound observation: "Father time is undefeated." You wisecracking whippersnappers will find out. In the meantime get off my lawn!
