The Albergue de Peregrinos Emaus in Burgos will open 1 April 2023. This albergue is a parochial hostel exclusive for pilgrims with credentials walking to Santiago de Compostela. It is a great place where pilgrims can find a warm Christian welcome, a communal meal, and a place where they can relax to regain strength, both spiritually and physically to continue the camino to Santiago de Compostela. A mass is offered every day at 7:30 pm ending with a pilgrims blessing. At 8 pm a communal dinner is served followed by a benediction prior to bedtime.

Albergue de Peregrinos Emaus is located at Calle San Pedro Cardeña 31. It is collocated in the San Jose Obrero church. The entrance is located at the side of the church. It is well situated just 1 ¼ kilometer from the cathedral. It has 20 beds divided into 4 bedrooms with both men and women bathrooms. Cost for a bed is 10 €. Dinner and breakfast are provided on a donativo basis. For those seeking a greater need for eucharistic worship there is a 24-hour adoration chapel in the building.

Priority is given to walking pilgrims; however, bicyclist pilgrims are welcome and there is locked storage facilities for bicycles.

Internet is available.

Reservations are not accepted.

The albergue is open from 1 April to 31 October. Check-in time is from 1pm to 8 pm.

Special note: The albergue will be closed for Easter from Thursday, 6 April to Sunday, 10 April.

Palma and I will be serving as hospitaleros 1 -16 April. This will be the fourth time we’ve served as hospitaleros here. We look forward to meeting and serving you.

I stayed here in April of 2022 and it was such a blessing! I arrived in the pouring rain with many blisters and was embraced by the love of the hospitaleros. A highlight of my pilgrimage.
