Albergue de Santa Maria

Time of past OR future Camino
April 28, 2022 Camino Frances
For folks that walked in 2021, I am curious about this Albergue in Carrion de Los Condes. With COVID restrictions how has the experience changed? Do the nuns stills sing and do they still offer a communal meal?

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

I stayed here July 2021 the nuns were there for check in and I walked with them to a pilgrim mass. I heard a group of pilgrims singing in a communal room at one point but didn’t join them so I don’t know if the nuns sang too

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Thank you , did they have the communal meal?
I’m not positive, but I don’t think they did. I had dinner next door. I made a point of attending communal dinners when they were offered but I might of missed the memo.

Side note this albergue was a top memory for my Camino. I had a great conversation with one of the sisters on the way to mass. And when returning from dinner I ran into a group of pilgrims who had gotten permission from the sisters to stay out after curfew and had made a traditional Galician cocktail that included flames In the square outside the albergue for another pilgrims birthday. So I’d say the friendliness and hospitality the sisters provided were top notch even during Covid times

When we went through in July they weren't singing. We stayed elsewhere, so I don't know if they are offering the communal meal.
