I am sending an WhatsApp so will report back. I know they have an albergue and the parents own a little store and some apartments. I've stayed there once in the apartments and my husband stayed in the albergue last fall.

Will be walking by there tomorrow…good to know they are open. We usually stop there for a cup of tea and a snack! We stayed there once. They had three apartments, two on the entrance level and bigger apartment upstairs. Lovely people.

Phil stayed at the albergue last fall and did not enjoy the meal. He is not vegetarian and I think the meal was vegetarian and perhaps not as plentiful as he wanted. The albergue dorms were spacious and there were not a lot of other pilgrims when he was there. When he got to Foncebaden the next day it was the beginning of a Spanish holiday. Many Spanish tour buses and he got the last bed in town at the donativo. His backup plan was to cab back to El Ganso for a second night for a bed if needed.

We stayed in an apartment in El Ganso in 2016 when Phil had a bad cold on the Camino. I was able to buy some stuff to make chicken soup in the little apartment kitchen. The rate for the apartment was pricey, but worth it since we both slept well and had comfort food. The owner of the tienda gave him some "ginger" hard candies since there was no cold medicine available for purchase in town.

I'll let my sis know - she is vegetarian so will be delighted if it is : )

Passed by the Albergue Gambino today. It is located on the right side of the main road as you exit the town. Lots of pilgrims stopping in. Still two bedrooms on main floor. Light snacks, coffee, tea hot chocolate, fruit, cake etc. Bathroom!

Yes those are the apartments I think next to the tienda. There is also an albergue with bunk rooms before yo arrive there. Used to be the Cowboy Bar and another Bar in the main part of town before you get to the store and apartments. We felt we had the best Patatas Bravas on the Camino at the Non-Cowboy bar.20211008_190308.jpg20211008_163750.jpg20211008_163736.jpg20211008_144757.jpg20211008_144747.jpg
