Albergue in Villamaior?

Join our full-service guided tour of the Basque Country and let us pamper you!
The guides only say an albergue at Monte de Goza, but when I walked through that region last year I stopped around Villamaior at a place that was serving breakfast. I THINK it was also a place where one could stay, but I can't remember, perhaps someone else might. It wasn't on my guide book though. (It had bright red check tablecloths and very clean toilet facilities.) Janet

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
There is accommodation

it is not an albergue, but it is a lovely place

beautiful, very friendly people, has nothing to do with me, I was nicely surprised to see a business with my name on it!

Hi Amancio,
thanks for your post. Do you know if you're able to stay there overnight or is it just a hotel/cafe? I tried the link you posted but the page wouldn't load, cheers, Jane.

Hi Jane, I managed to load the page and find beds are a bit pricey. They have 8 serviced apartments and the September price is 60euros per night, so if you're sharing it might be worthwhile.

they are very friendly people, and having had so many pilgrims ask about accommodation on their way to Santiago, I am pretty sure they may offer you some alternative.

They are really friendly people, as far as I was able to see, and I have heard the food is not bad at all!

buen camino, australiana!

Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
thanks everyone for your imput - I have noted it on my map in case I need to stop there. I leave Australia tomorrow and begin walking next Monday so not long now. It's been like one long pregnancy - the labour is near (climbing those mountains on day 1) and the birth will be from Roncevalles onwards I would imagine.
Thanks to Ivar for a great informative site and to all those posters offering their valuable knowledge - it has really helped me in my planning. :) I will post back any info that may be of help to others planning their camino after me. Cheers, Jane

Best Wishes, Jane,
Buen Camino,

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
All the best Jane.... will be thinking of you!

You'll have a wonderful time Jane.

Buen Camino ... Trudy

thanks everyone for your good wishes, I shall try and keep the forum posted on progress along the way. Good luck to others who are starting out at a similar time - may we have good weather, safe progress and abundant health along the way. Adios for now, Jane :)
