Hello,
any news about the Albergue La Casa Magica in Villatuerta? are they still running the place? I am trying to book night in April with no responce.
Buen Camino

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
They closed for their winter break some when mid-October, so they simply might not be open yet. Buen Camino! SY

Hi, has anyone here stayed at Casa Magica this year? I am hoping they will be open when I'm there around 20 October. I had a fantastic vegetarian paella there 2 years ago. Jill

Was there a year ago, early Sep.'14, new cooker and excellent dinner, no longer vegetarian though. At that time Simone still ran the place but kept on saying that she'll quit soon; very recently heard that there is a new hospitalero/a and would also be keen to read update comments.

I stayed at La Casa Mágicain May, 2015 and it was a wonderful experience with the fabulous, infamous vegetarian paella. I don't know if the hospitalero is the same as in prior years, but he gave me and my two Camino buddies a free fabulous bottle of red wine because I am from Mexico and his best friend is from Mexico. Don't you just love the Camino?

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

We stayed there as well in May but we were in the large "private" room on the top level ... The room with the crooked cobbled floor and the privy in the room behind a screen ... The modern glass shower was just by a wall ... No walls for privacy but the glass was frosted if I remember correctly but then again maybe not 'shrug' ... There was a tiny window and the night we stayed I woke up in the middle of the night and a perfect full moon was framed high up on the wall in the tiny window ... It was indeed magical and a night I will not soon forget. The hospitaleros were amazing and so so welcoming! The meal was fabulous as was the company. Breakfast was another highlight ... If you can stay here ... Please do!

PS just a note about the shower and privy ... They were in our private room and not shared ... Just didn't want to leave the impression that the communal bathrooms were like that ... I'm sure they offered plenty of privacy ;)

I’m heading to the Frances shortly and was going to be a bit spontaneous with rooms. I booked the first week just to make sure and was surprised at how tight reservations were. As I started making...
