Albergue : L'auberge du Pèlerin à SJPP

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
Hi
I have a a reservation for this Albergue (25 Rue de la Citadelle) on the 25th April.
I have paid and have a confermation.

Lucy,

You may wish to re-confirm as I tried to book May 6 this year, 10 days ago and I just received a response now. Here it is;

Hello Michelle,
I'm sorry, the inn will be closed during the entire 2018 season.
cordially

Alain

If you still need a hostel, Beilari is just a few doors away.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Thanks for this.
I have had a response from Alain, but i have indeed paid so i am trying to sort out a refund.

Thank you. We also had a paid booking for Sunday 6th May ... not very good that the owner isn't contacting those with bookings. If it wasn't for this blog we would have fronted to a closed albergue.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
OMG we've just discovered this albergue is closed! We had a paid reservation for 73 Euros for 2 people including dinner and breakfast on the 19th May. Now what?? Any suggestions for refund? We have tried to contact them but no answer.

Now we are going to try to boo somewhere else.

Bridget & Veronica :)

I have contacted them a few minutes ago and am trying to organise a refund. It seems like they have a sign on their web page saying they are closed for 2018, but the on-line system was (still?) taking reservations, taking payment and providing written confirmation.

hmm frustrating isn't it...I suppose the reality is 'the camino takes...as well as gives' By the way I meant to write we are trying to 'book' somewhere else in the above post...didn't mean we were scary and trying to 'boo' people :);)

Don't worry about reservation to l'auberge du pèlerin at SJPP. This albergue is closed
You will have seen that a number of us have been caught out. I'm wondering if du Pelerin has an online system that accepts bookings and payment, and sends out a confirmation message, even though they will be closed in 2018?

It seems that that is what is happening. The receipt looks completely kosher.
The owner says that the website says it's closed, but as you say it was processing bookings.
Most accommodation is closed for some of the year so there were no warning signals really.
Yes so grateful to this site.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
