After four years, I am back on the Camino del Norte and more than happy to be back at Mme Aguirre's Albergue.
She now hosts 2 pilgrims max per room (well vented with large windows) for 20 € / night. The breakfast was just fantastic :) !!
From the airport, I took the bus line 4 (Chronoplus) to arrive. The albergue is highly recommendable, just as I remembered!
You can reach Mme Aguirre at +33 6 83 14 70 68, aguirresal@aguirre.fr or https://www.facebook.com/AlbergueAguirreBayonne/

Thank you for this info Belgarian. Though I’ve been to Bayonne before it’s very handy to have the name and details of a place that is recommended by a fellow pilgrim. I look forward to staying there.
Enjoy your Camino!

Thanks! I wish I could stay there with this visit. Unfortunately, I arrive in Bayonne at midnight - so the Ibis is my best option - being close to the train station and 24 hour desk service so I can check in after midnight.

Bonjour!

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

it's a very nice albergue with two small dorms (both have a window), two showers, a full kitchen, and very nice hospitaleros, on a quiet street in the old centre. 5 mins from all services, about 15 mins slow walking from the train station. a bit tricky to find if you are there for the first time cause I didn't see any indications, so use a map or google.
they have info on various routes in bearn which was very valuable to me as I was taking voie de la nive ou de la poste to SJPP (very tricky as the waymarks are sparse and tiny, gps tracks from auceourduchemin site very recommended).

I stayed there twice this year. once on my way to SJPP when I arrived too late to continue on for camino francés (I called in advance to inquire about this and they said ok because there was room) and once when I walked from irún to lourdes.
