Hey all, I only have a few days on the Camino, so I want to make sure I’m staying in interesing hostels the whole time!

If possible, I’d like to stay somewhere that does either services or group dinners (or both) every night, but I’m not seeing a lot of information on which albergues have these. Alternatively, I’d love to stay in particularly beautiful/historic buildings.

My tentative stops are as follows:
Porto
Tui
Redondela
Pontevedra
Caldas de Reis
Padrón
Santiago (x2 nights)

We did not encounter the group meals as much on the Portugese camino as we did on the french route. I believe the monastery in Hebron does a communal meal but we did not stay there. I see there is a new Monasterio Albergue in Tui but unsure about meals. Would recommend O recuncho de peregrinoo past Redondela. There is also Refuxigo de Jerezana past Redondela they may do a communal meal. Dont miss the church in Padron and the hot springs in Caldas de Reis

The Barro Pilgrims hostel is in between Pontevedra and Caldas de Reis. It is a short, well marked detour from the Camino. 6/euro a night, it offered really hot showers in clean bathrooms, communal dinner for a donativo and breakfast in the morning. In February I was one of two pilgrims to stay, but the hospitalero said that in the high season there is room for over 25. Good place and would stay again!
