Walked from SJPP to Santiago
Hola, can anyone recommend any alternative accommodation near Villadangos Del Paramo or Villar deMazarife (stage 21 - (John Brierley guide book). I am looking for private room with own bathroom.
Leon to Mazarife is a 22.2km walk and I would prefer to keep the days walk no higher than 25km (if possible).
Mucha Gracias.
Joanne

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
You can shorten the leg by taking the city bus from Leon to La Virgen del Camino near the airport. That makes Mazarife a much closer destination! The bus leaves from the circle near the cathedral, right in front of the BBVA bank.

Albergue Tio Pepe in Villar de Mazarife across from the church has 2 private rooms that include breakfast. I liked this albergue, very welcoming. Their phone(s) are: 34 987 390 517 -- or 34 696 005 264 or email reservas@alberguetiopepe.es .

I would advice not to pushed for Villadangos del Paramo (San Martin del Camino is on the alternate route, just want to note that is another one to skip....).

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
After my stay in Leon, I chose a short day and walked only to La Virgen del Camino. The following day I pushed on (24.3 k) to Hospital de Orbigo and stayed at Don Suero de quinones. I paid € 40 for a private room and bath and a beautiful view of the bridge.

I walked from Leon to Vilar de Mazarife then joined three others in taxi to Hospital de Orbigo and stayed at the excellent Albergue San Miguel.
Barman at Tio Pepe phoned for us. Shortened the day to Astorga.
