Hi, a few years ago I walked with a lovely French couple along an alternative to highway leaving from Viloria de Rioja. It was along quiet country roads. This route was in their French guide book.
I'm looking for a photo of the map of this route.
Thanks

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Ballari,
Perhaps this schematic map in Gronze might be of help.
I walked the path from Granon to Casteldelgado to VdlR and on to Belorado.
Viloria de la Rioja is the birthplace of Santo Domingo. One very special albergue there is the Refugio Acacio & Orietta.
When I stopped for tea in 2009 and returned for a night in 2010 the hospitality of Acacio and Orietta was most generous and their multi lingual camino library outstanding.

Any mapping app, Maps.me, Mapy.cz, even Godgle will allow you to select your own path between any given points on the Camino. A quick look at Godgle (a not particularly useful source for hikers) suggests a route south from Vilaria toward San Pedro de Monte then a couple of cart-tracks toward Fresneña. I've not chased it further.

The Camino parallels the highway because most of the local roads don't go where your average peregrino wants to

Thank you. That was it! A great walk!
