If you are able to find this path on Google maps please, let me know! Don't know why but for the life of me, I just I can't seen to find the trail/path to the rock top of Alto da Portela Grande. 😖 I'm actually trying to use the satellite images to find a wonderful place where we stopped to eat. It was the first open place after coming down from the mountain top. The owner was named 'Manny' which I think, is actually written on the building. He and his wife served us a huge platter of salad veggies and another of meats and cheeses. His wife kept running back to the garden to get more fresh tomatoes and onions. Then he closed the gates for the day and brought out bottles of his own green wine...YUM!

The coordinates of the highpoint are 41.863009, -8.608167.

Here's the highpoint on a map. There is a café available there but I don't recall any signage mentioning "Manny's" and I don't have anything in my files about the name of the café so it could be what you are looking for.

Also attached is a Google Earth KML file (from my TrailSmart app) showing the Ponte de Lima - Rubiães section, which includes this location. Hope that helps.

This is the place that I'm trying to find on Google Maps...Top of La Bruja portion.jpg

Hmmm. That does look like how I remember Alto da Portela Grande. I'd have to go through my photos to be sure, but it matches what I see in Google Maps. Try dropping into Street View at the following URL to get a panoramic 360 degree view.

Day 4 im traveling from Carvahal to Lugar do Corgo and wanted to stay at Casa Fernanda. If this falls thru as it is very busy where do you recommend. From Lugar the next day my plan is walk to Ponte de Lima have lunch there, rest and then continue on Ponte da Lima to Alto da Portela Grande and wanted to stay at CR Oliverinha on 8/12 but it is full ... and will need a hotel there too. The rest of my journey has a tentative plan. Do you have a hotel or guest house with private room recommendation. I would be greatful. Lisa
