I found this stretch difficult as walking a lot on asphalt roads,I found it hard on my feet. The countryside too I think was not as nice as my first day of this walk. However I did try to enjoy but at times it was endurence. The first part of the day was misty rain, just like my home weather in Ireland:). The farmers were busy today harvesting the what I call ,corn on the cob crop and there was at times heavy machinary on the way. Tomorrow I have decided to send on my back pack as it is a long stage, about 32 km to Muxia and I have read that it is 50% on asphalt road.Today I saw about 15 walkers and about 8 bikers. There are 3 as far as I know staying in my albergue a girl from Tiawan,a guy from Italy, and myself the Irishman.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Smart move, @roamingpaddy , sending on your pack. I chose to do that on the Ingles as I calculated (correctly) I would not get to albergues in time for a bed, and the difference was remarkable, it certainly made the walking much easier.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Yes good move alright altough the purists would frown lol. I listened to my body and it will be sent on tomorrow too to Finisterre:)

There is noting more "pure" about carrying your own pack, or where you spend the night. They are simply preferences. 😊

Yes. It is Alto da Pena (peak of the rock).
Alto de Pana (peak of corduroy) doesn't make sense in Galician.
I just ask because I see A Pena on the Gronze site for the Santiago - Finisterre route, but no Alto da Pena.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-

There are two albergues in A Pena, one is Albergue Alto da Pena, the other is Albergue Parroquial San Mamede da Pena. A bit confusing. But I’ve walked that way many times and have no memory of this town or either albergue. Does anyone have some pictures?

Hello peregrinos! My daughter and I are walking the CF from SJPP and hope to arrive in SDC around a week before we fly home (late June). We'd like to walk to either Finisterra or Muxia and then...
