Any chance of a store with men’s Hoka Speedgoats in Leon?

My husband’s Speedgoats are getting worn out really fast. Are there any outfitter stores in Leon that might have a replacement pair? We will be in Sahagun tomorrow.

Hi Kasee,

This well known shop is very central ( close to the Cathedral of Leon) but there are many others around. Decathlon and K2 Planet more out of the city centre.
No idea if Hoka is readily available in Spain but there will be very good alternatives.

Good luck.

EDIT : they have Hoka. Woohoo!

How to Successfully Prepare for Your Camino
The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I'm surprised they're wearing out so fast. I wore the same shoe on the camino and it was still going strong when I reached SdC (other than being very very dirty).

Are they getting overly wet? When you get the new pair, might help to stuff some newspaper in them at night so they dry out more.

Haven’t been wet yet. He pronates pretty badly and they are wearing unevenly. The orthotics he was using weren’t helping, so we will get some over the counter ones.

If he is only wearing down the soles and the rest of the shoe is in good shape you can get any cobbler (zapatero) to re-sole them for next to nothing... I had mine redone for less than 30 euros and they are now better than they were new... 20220609_111356.jpgnew!

Great idea! We don’t have any rest days, though. How long did it take?

We were just in Armería Castro.Deportes y Tienda del peregrino (Calle La Rúa) in Leon yesterday. Near plaza where Casa Botines is. Can’t recall if I saw Hokas but looks like they carry them per website :

definitely worth a phone call or drop in.

I referred to this in post #2

Indeed. A word needs to be said in favour of the Spanish zapateros - they can work wonders with soles, uppers, any part of the shoe you can mention. And it is an eco-friendly thing to do.

We have no rest days. We are very much into no waste and reusing, but it might not work out on the camino.
