Last year I was in Pamplona for the start of the San Fermin festival in September. I left Pamplona on Saturday morning for Puente la Reina. That day there was a festival in Puente la Reina with the running of the bulls and missed it. I have tried to google dates etc. for this year, but I must be missing something. Anybody have any info stories etc. to share?

I was in Puente de la Reina on September 24 for the running of the bulls. I did not partake in it. That's about all I can tell you; it seems to coincide with a saint's feast day and/or harvest festival. The San Fermin festival is the big one that takes place in July. But, as you know, people in Spain will look for/find any excuse to have a party or run bulls, etc. Here are some photos:

The September San Fermin festival was without the running of the bulls. I think it is more for the ~locals.

Those are actually cows, and not Spanish fighting bulls.
A few years ago when I passed through Puente la Reina in July a week or so after the San Fermin festivities in Pamplona, they ran the cows down the streets early in the evening and at night had festivities. It was nice.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I was in Puente on Sept 24 2017. My blog on that day describes the scene with many photos:

To tell the truth, it was a bit hard on the animals which were forced to run back and forth along the Main Street, with barricades at both ends. It went on for a long time and it became rather boring. It obviously takes place annually as all the doors facing onto the street have slots for the barriers to be erected.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
26th September 2015, they released a couple of calves in the streets for the young people to run. It was quite cool!

When my wife and I walked in 2015 we spent the last Saturday night in September in Pamplona and were delighted to witness the Little San Fermin. This was specifically for children with men chasing them through the streets with bulls heads mounted on wheelbarrows. The next day we arrived in Puente La Reina to be told we had missed an event with real bulls. I have since learned that the festival in Puente La Reina takes place on the last weekend of September and lasts all weekend. We are going to try and time our next Camino to see it. Cheers
