Yep, that's it. When on the Camino I eventually develop a Pilgrim's tan; it's a version of what is called a Farmer's tan. The left side of my face developed two smallish brown spots after a few Caminos even though I wear a hat. I think it is because walking SW in spring my face is exposed more to the sun's rays on the side, in addition to being a "bit" older.🙂

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Sitting by my pool in Naples, I have developed two sun free areas:
1.) top of head (I wear a ball cap)
2.) my groin (I wear a Speedo)
Almost TMI - but funny. I live on the other (East) coast of Florida.

Here, we have one wardrobe all year - shorts and t-shirts with sandals. I sport a Camino tan year-round.

We have been training since October, I think my feet and ankles are the only sun free areas left.

Haha... just last week I decided I need to start prepping more for my end of May Camino. For me - this definitely includes getting some sun exposure! I need to prep my skin so I don't burn on the Camino. I am a redhead with freckles - this is essential to prevent me from frying and being miserable.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

I'm in Naples too, I do the Greenway from Golden Gate Pkwy to Baker's Park mostly once or twice a day temp and weather dependent. I sorta meant because I'm in the shoes I'll be wearing that they don't get much sun now.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
So our camino tans were unlike any other tan I have ever had. The best tan was on the back of the calves, and then the next best was the left side of the body. By the time we reached Sarria you could tell who had walked the whole Frances because we all had the same tans from always walking westward and mostly in the morning. Anyone with an even whole body tan had not come our way.

I live in Kona and have the same wardrobe. Oofus sandals, shorts and t-shirts with Hawaiian print shirts for "dress up" occasions.

Here in Kona I have to walk to the north one day and to the south the next day to keep the tan sort of equal, but with SPF 70 Reef Safe Dolphin Safe Camino Safe (did I miss anything) sunscreen, my tan is still lagging a bit... only the "watch strap" pale band shows that I'm getting any sun, but the boring weather (80 high / 69 low) every day makes moving achy bones a lot easier each day.
VF coming up in late May through late July. Au revoir and bon chemin.
PS -- Speedos in Kona are reserved for the old (and weight challenged ) males who don't own a mirror. :>)

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

I walked for a few days with a young French woman who favoured a Teeshirt dress and complained that the left side and rear of her calves were more tanned than the other side and wonder whether walking back on the revuelta would even things out.
