I would like to bring enrgy bars and gels for my Bike ride on the Camino. Are you allowed to bring non perishables?
Is there anyong else planning to ride the camino the last two weeks of June?
Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.
Don't know where you're from, but I think it shouldn't be a problem to bring them. We are leaving Roncesvalles on June 6 and should be getting to Santiago about June 21. Have a great trip!
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
You obviously haven't flown during the past few months
Gels count as liquids so are limited to 100ml per bottle and have to fit in a bag of a certain size (my guess is no more than 5 such bottles)
And anyway I didn't see any cyclists working hard enough to justify needing energy bars and gels - I got by fine with buying chocolate and mixing water with fruit juice along the way
Well I wasn't assuming it would be taken on board... If it's in your luggage it's alright, isn't it? True though, I last flew in June 2006.
To be honest, your comment was the first thing that came to my mind. We will be doing between 50-70 km per day, and it didn't even occur to me to take gels. At most some cereal bars. We are planning a really easy pace, definitely nothing to warrant that energy intake. And then I find energy gels absolutely disgusting. We biked a race last year (I took it like a nice trip, not a race, but I tried quite hard), some 60 kilometers in relatively hilly terrain, but not technical. I had one of these gel things with me... I was advised to eat it about halfway through the race, so I opened it and squeuzed it in my mouth... I almost fell of my bike, my reaction was so violent. It was GROSS!!!! I haven't had one since.

Between Villafranca Montes de Oca and San Juan de Ortega there was a great resting place with benches, totem poles andvarious wooden art. A place of good vibes.
It is now completely demolished...
