Arrive Santiago then back to Lisbon

Time of past OR future Camino
Portugal route from Lisbon in May (2015)
Via de la Plata from Seville in April-May 2017
Here's what I think I want to do. Please tell me if this is realistic. I arrive end of May in Santiago (from Teo) to make the noon Pilgrim Mass (or did I see the Summer 10:30 & 6:00 schedule? Will that be in effect then?). Get my certificate, see the cathedra, etc. Check into a hostel for the night, minor sightseeing. The next day I want to catch a train South and stay in Lisbon that night (where I started).
Question 1: what is the Pilgrim Mass schedule for the end of May time frame?
Question 2: I assume an express train gets me from Santiago to Lisbon in the same day. What is the name of the train service? Where do I go? what is the cost? etc.
Question 3: I know this doesn't allow much time to sight see Santiago, but that's OK (I think I will be tired anyway!). My 'extra' day will be in Lisbon before flying back to U.S.. Is there anything I'm missing about arriving in Santiago and getting to Lisbon?

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Question 2: I assume an express train gets me from Santiago to Lisbon in the same day.
No express trains! You can get to Oporto from Santiago, then probably transfer to Lisbon. Check the trains for Portugal.

The trains from Santiago to Lisbon backtrack to Burgos or Madrid:

These are current schedules, but are likely to be the same when you will be there.

I know it's possible to take a train from Vigo to Porto as my friend has booked this journey. There are regular train services to Lisbon from Porto..

Buen Camino.

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
You can take a train from Santiago to Vigo and from there to Porto, then another one to Lisbon. No the best of connections, but you can get to Lisbon a bit after 14h00, provided you take a 6h19 train from Santiago. The problem is the Vigo to Porto connection with only two trains per day.

Hi, I find the ALSA bus from Santiago to Lisbon is easiest. Get on in Santiago and get off in Lisbon :)
