I took a taxi from the Biarritz airport to the Bayonne train station as my train was leaving about 20 minutes after I obtained my pack from the luggage carousel. I told the taxi driver that my train left in 20 minutes and he got me to the station in under ten minutes.

The airport at Biarritz is very small, but there is a tourist information desk where they will give you the bus schedule & information. If you are pressed for time, you should take the taxi to the train station in Bayonne because the bus takes almost an hour & stops at every street corner just about. (joking, but that's what it seemed like to me).

thanks for the advice all :)

I am a nervous traveler at the best of times, and walking the camino on my own is going to have me completely out of my element! But I am excited :)

One important piece of advice I would give you is to avoid, if at all possible, checking any luggage on your flight to Biarritz. Your pack should be small enough to carry on and you don't want to have to waste even half a day waiting for it to arrive.

oh no! something else to worry about :) I have to check in my bag as i have walking sticks... if i have to wait around half a day, just means i start half a day late i guess.

I don't know what airline you're flying, but I've checked my pack on every flight I've taken and it comes right up with the other luggage - no unusual wait... It might be different with smaller or budget airlines.
Buen Camino,

The problem occurs when the luggage does not make the flight you were on and you have to wait for the next one to arrive. Could be the same time tomorrow.

I arrive in SJPP on 9 May afternoon and starting walking on Sunday, 10 May. Perhaps it will happen that we will meet up with each other.
