Hello,

I will be arriving in Madrid (from JFK on Delta) on the early Morning of Aug 30th Planning on spending the evening in Madrid then taking the train to Pamplona the next morning (I am not racing to get Saint Jean). Anyone else doing something like this on these dates. Be nice to meet and ride.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
Buen Camino! BTW, there are also awesome buses right outside the airport door going to Pamplona.
Thanks. I know about the buses, it one of my options. But I have to ride a high speed train once.😏 staying overnight in Madrid since I will have been a wake or partially awake for over 26 hours. Appreciate your response.

If you don't mind, please post the info about the train to Pamplona.
Does it run directly from the airport? From Atocha? Cost? Times? Thanks.

Byron, my wife and I are about two weeks behind you, arriving in Madrid on Sept 14th. This is our fourth camino frances, and the third time starting in Madrid. Two years ago we started in Barcelona. Our routine is the same: spend one night in Madrid to get over jet lag and enjoy the wonderful city; we stay in a small private albergue close to Puerto del Sol and Plaza Mayor. Then like you, we take a high speed train to Pamplona; the trip is quicker than a bus and has a bathroom on board. We spend the night in Pamplona, another great city to visit, then take the bus to St Jean. One night there, then we begin our camino on a Friday. Looking forward to another excellent adventure! Bob

Renfe has not posted that departure time. It would be nice.

My grandson and I arrive about 9:00AM at MAD, on Iberia. We plan to catch the bus to Pamplona and on to SJPP---leaving MAD 10-11AM.

I have taken the bus from Madrid airport to Pamplona in 2015, and taken the train in 2017.
I think both are nice experiences, each in their own way. The buses are top notch, comfortable, and actually I find them a little more relaxing. They do stop for bathroom breaks.

I will be flying to Pamplona, and planned to take the bus to Saint Jean on August 31st. It does not seem to be open for reservations yet, but I think there is only one bus per day, leaving at 2:30 and arriving at 4:15.
