Has anyone ever worked out the cost of doing the Camino Frances from Saint Jean Pied de Port. Using Albergues and Hotels in the main cities. Averages Euros per day, Pilgrim meals etc. Would be interested in the total over 35/36 days. Thank you

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
It just depends on the type of person you are.
It also depends on where you will sleep?
Are you comfortable sleeping on a mat on the floor in the parochials?
Or do you need the comfort of a private room and bathroom?
Will you be busing or taking taxis?

Lodging can run anywhere from 5 euros to 75 euros and up, depending.

Food also depends.
I go every year and never budget more than 20-25 euros per day for food and snacks.
But I picnic a lot and eat my main meal around noon-2 pm when the Menu del Dia is offered, rather than wait until late for the more spendy pilgrim meal.

You can picnic a lot and cook when possible
and get by on as little as $20-$25 per day
or you can spend much more.

Below is my average daily budget:
Breakfast: €0-€5
Lunch: €2-€8
Dinner: €8-€12
Incidentals : €2-€5

Taxis are +/- €1.50 Euros per kilometer

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Absolute minimum (cheapest albergue + self cooked food without any treat) - 10 Euro/day, but that is very, very frugal living.
Reasonable comfy, but non-luxury Camino - 15-25 Euro/day
Occasional splurging included - 25 Euro upwards - your bank account is the limit ;-)

Hope that helps and Buen Camino! SY
