Holy Year from Pamplona 2010, SJPP 2011, Lisbon 2012, Le Puy 2013, Vezelay (partial watch this space!) 2014; 2015 Toulouse-Puenta la Reina (Arles)
I am so happy looking at blogs of different people, the pictures they took, and their Caminos, recommendations of this gite that hotel, this Irish couple those from somewhere else-one can forget practicalities. I will be leaving Le Puy the end of March, a week before Easter and plan to walk, slowly, enjoying every step every valley, every village, every Romanesque church along the way hoping to reach Puente la Reina after five weeks may get stuck in beautiful Pamplona and not go on, such a shame. Time-wise should be a piece of cake. Now the hard part, I must return to Lyon for a continuing flight, by bus, by train, by oxcart doesn't much matter. The question is from where. Pamplona to Lyon nothing direct. Pamplona to Pau to Lyon? Pamplona to Toulouse to Lyon? Internet searches all send me north through Paris a ridiculous idea. Anyone been there done that? Would appreciate any feedback.

I use the Deusche Bahn site (http://www.bahn.com). The best bet there looks like 3 changes and 12 hours:
Pamplona to Barcelona via InterCity
Barcelona to Figueres via Arco
Figueres to Montpelier via TGV
Montpelier to Lyon via TGV

Reservations required on each segment.
