I am hoping to walk the LePuy Route next June from LePuy to Conques or Figeac after a visit with my daughter in Denmark. I will be staying in Copenhagen the month of May and would like to return to the US from Paris instead of going all the way back back to Copenhagen to pick up extra luggage. Does anyone know if the transport company would take my suitcase from LePuy direct to Conques or Figeac and leave with a prearranged hotel or gite. I travel light, but can not spend a month in Copenhagen with only a 12 lb backpack.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
You could ship the surplus from Copenhagen to Paris. The Blue Marble will be happy to hold it. Then you can collect on your way out.

I second Kitsambler's suggestion. If you transit Paris on your way to Le Puy, just drop off your suitcase at the Blue Marble office. If you are flying to Lyon or cannot spend the time to make the drop off during a transit of Paris, Blue Marble arranged transport from our hotel in Le Puy and then held our suitcase for about 18 days until we got back to Paris to collect it.

Three years ago I didn't have any luck when I asked la Malle Postale, one of the major transporters for the Le Puy- Figeac portion of the route, about holding our suitcase while we hiked. They just didn't provide that service. Their service with regard to bag transport and emergency transport of my wife after she sprained her foot was completely satisfactory and they speak English. You could contact them and ask if they provide this service now. From their website I have noticed an expansion of their services.

Bon chemin.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
La malle postale will hold your luggage in Le Puy and then deliver it to your final destination on the Chemin de Compostelle, charging €30 for a week (Conques) or €40 for 10 days (Figeac - make it that far if you can, it's a really nice town and has good rail connections)

Details (in French, but Google Chrome does a good translation) https://www.lamallepostale.com/fr/services/consigne-bagages

We commenced walking the Via Podiensis on Saturday 13th April 2024. We are from Australia and find it easier to bring our stuff for the Camino in a suitcase, as we have extra clothes for before...
A special thank you to Dave Whitson for his shortcuts on the GR 65. We had a beautiful day walking by the river Lot into Cahors instead of the regular route. It takes a lot of work to create...
