Barcelona airport to Sants station?

I need to get from Barcelona airport to Sants train station. It's confusing - seems like you can go by bus, train or metro but it appears that you cannot use a ticket from a book of 10 metro tickets (T10) for the METRO - you have to buy a special "airport ticket" for the metro. But I read somewhere that you can use a T10 ticket to travel by RENFE train from the airport.
Is this true? I'm flying into Barcelona then taking a train to Pamplona straight away, but I'll be coming back to Barcelona later for 3 days. So buying a T10 ticket makes sense.
Can I use the T10 ticket for the TRAIN (not metro) from the airport? Can you buy the T10 ticket at the airport?

The airport bus is not integrated with the other bus services of Barcelona. The R-2 Rodalies train is your best bet. It goes from the airport (T-2) to Barcelona Sants every thirty minutes on the 8's.

Took a taxi. From memory about 50€. Expensive I know but saved the hassle and the worry.
