Bayonne to SJPdP in summer/fall 2015

Hello fellow pilgrims,

I'm beginning my first camino this August and I would greatly appreciate some input. I'll be leaving the US on Monday, August 17, and won't arrive in Bayonne until 5:30 PM on August 18th. Would it be advisable to book lodging in Bayonne and travel to SJPdP the next morning or is the there still transportation available? I'm not necessarily looking to take a taxi or hire a driver.

I read that the railway suffered some damage last year, but should have been fixed by now. Does anyone have an update on the current train situation? Also, if anyone could direct me to a bus or train schedule, I would greatly apprecaite it.
