Belorado to Atapuerca Accommodation recommend Please ??.

Can anyone recommend accommodation between on the way to Atapuerca from Belorado.

San Juan de Ortega is very basic. All the other albergues are better. If you are looking for private rooms, La Hutte in Atapuerca is nice and the food is good. There is an albergue attached as well.

In Villafranca Montes Oca
the municipal albergue is simple but my stops were always very pleasant.

Across the road the nearby private albergue San Anton Abad is said to be very comfortable with some private rooms.

I enjoy staying at San Rafael in Agés (http://www.actiweb.es/alberguesanrafael2010/). Sister and brother own it and both are exceedingly friendly and helpful. Also makes the next day's walk to Burgos very enjoyable. You have option for dorm rooms or a private rooms with bathroom. Meals were good too.

I splurged on a hotel room there last year. It was very nice, and I liked that it was attached to the albergue, so that when I had my dinner I was dining with other pilgrims.

I find it it is clean, warm and friendly, with locals open to pilgrims.

Downstairs is a bit like a bar in the West of Ireland - open to emigrants and immigrants!

Ages is one of my favorite towns on the CF, and I like that bar, too.
Atapuerca is only a short, flat 2.5k down the road.

Highly recommend the albergue San Anton Abad at Villafranca Montes de Oca. It is attached to the hotel and is spotlessly clean, mostly new, choice of a bed or a bunk, good kitchen or eat Menu del dia at the hotel. From memory a bunk bed was 8 euros and the 'single story' bed 10 euros. Have stayed there 3 times. Talk to the owner if possible - he has walked the Camino and is quite a character. 12 kms from Belorada, 16km to Ages or 19 to Atapuerca, and then 20km to Burgos. On the way into Burgos, at Castanares take the route through the park alongside the river instead of the hellish 7km route alongside the busy main road N120 into Burgos
